Choosing a portrait artist
I encourage people to see what's out there. You'll know what you like. Everyone has their own style. My style is distinguished by loose strokes, and often in a background which "fits" color wise, and is quite watered down (watercolors). My sort-of "trademark" is a subtle halo around the subject. As you look through my art, you'll also see that I can create very traditional work as well.
About the Artist:
Arin Quintel received her BFA (Magna Cum Laude) from Plymouth State University in 1979. She has worked as an art director/ graphic designer for over 30 years in newspaper and corporate graphic design departments, assisted in print buying, and has taught watercolors to disabled individuals, and has done  book illustrations.

How it works:
  • Mail or e-mail one or , (preferably)  two, good photos, (quality important), especially color - I wouldn't like to paint a dog that's actually black, but brown in the photo.
  • Which medium you would like: watercolor, pencil, or colored special
  • Brief description of pet, including its personality.
  • Prior to sending, as soon as I think it's showable  I take a picture  of  it , e-mail it to you, then finish details and send, postage is free.
  • I need 14 days to complete your picture. If I have no other work at the time, you may receive it sooner.
  • Tell me anything else you are looking for in the picture, please be specific.
